Finding fries
at the bottom of the sack
One of the secrets of a happy life is continuous small treats.”
—Iris Murdoc
What a simple truth.
. . . and I was reminded of that a few years ago by Lacey Kosikowski, then a high school senior.
If you know Lacey, you know she’s a beautiful, talented, caring young lady. Now we know why—she looks for the everyday joys of life.
When introduced at the Homecoming game before being crowned Queen, Lacey said that one thing which makes her happy is “finding fries at the bottom of the bag.”
Told you she knew the secret of happiness. . . .
Everyday, unexpected joys.
Somewhere a fortune cookie must echo that sentiment given voice by that young teenage woman—She who finds happiness at the bottom of a bag of fries can find happiness everywhere she looks.
Open your eyes to everyday joys.
Open your eyes to those continuous small treats which grace us every single day.
We live in sadness because we aren’t looking for happiness. . . that happiness sitting out there just waiting for us to see it every day.
